Hi, I’m Victoria Flores, and I’m running to represent Ward 6 on Regina City Council because I believe in the power of community.

For the past 18 years, I’ve proudly called Regina home, and over time, my love for this city has only grown. My partner and I bought our first home in the Heritage neighborhood, drawn by its affordability and proximity to downtown. Living here has allowed me to connect with the incredible people who make up this community and understand the unique challenges we face. That’s what led me to join the Heritage Community Association—to contribute to a community I truly care about.

Through my time in Ward 6, I’ve seen the richness and diversity in our neighborhoods. I’ve watched how our community rallies to support those in need, but I’ve also seen the gaps in support from all levels of government. Issues like homelessness and community well-being are often overlooked, leaving underfunded organizations to shoulder the burden. With over 13 years of experience in the non-profit sector—including my work at the Regina Food Bank and the Regina Open Door Society—I know firsthand the struggles these organizations face. And I believe there’s so much more our local government can do to support these vital efforts.

I’ve had the privilege of sitting on key committees, such as the Community Wellbeing discussions and the Catalyst Committee. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of how decisions are made in our city. While educational, I’ve also found these processes frustrating—important community issues are often pushed aside or treated as someone else’s problem. That frustration has driven my passion for advocacy and my decision to run for City Council.

I’m committed to ensuring that every voice in Ward 6 is heard and that our community feels supported. My values are rooted in fairness, community well-being, and the belief that when we uplift our most vulnerable, we all succeed. I envision a Ward 6 where families feel safe, local businesses thrive, and residents are proud to call this community home.

Outside of my work, you’ll find me biking around the city, gardening, or spending time with my dog. I’m always eager to learn new things—whether it’s cross-country skiing, paddling, or even partner acrobatics. These experiences keep me connected to the people and places of Regina, fueling my passion to make this city an even better place for everyone.
